The Judy Center Partnership serves children birth-age 5 yrs old and their families who live in the Cradlerock Elementary attendance area, including those enrolled in Pre-K, Kindergarten, Dasher Green Head Start and our partner Child Care programs. We offer parenting programs that foster knowledge of child development, learning about “teachable moments” and focus on good health, mental health and wellness practices.

All playgroups are held at the Judy Center (in the portable learning cottage next to Cradlerock Elementary). Parents/caregivers attend groups/events with their child, play, and participate!

Play and Learn

Toddlers enjoy stories, music and movement, songs, nursery rhymes, puppets, making friends and language development. Children receive a free book weekly.

Terrific Tots

2-4 yr olds- mixed age enrichment playgroup: children enjoy stories, songs, music and movement, and early learning activities that support language development. Children receive a free book weekly. Call for more information or to register.

Families Together Nights

A family fun night that begins with dinner at 6pm followed by a special early learning cultural arts presentation/program focusing on early reading, science (animals, the planets and space), fitness, magic, and social emotional awareness. All families within the Cradlerock ES attendance area with children birth through age five are invited to attend. Programs are held in the CRES school cafeteria. The East Columbia Library sends staff with a selection of books and materials for parents to borrow and Howard County Recreation and Parks is available for information and registration.

Baby & Me - 0-12 months

Have fun with your baby as you participate in developmentally appropriate activities designed to stimulate and engage. You and your baby will enjoy music, puppets, instruments, streamers, parachute and other props as you sing, move and explore!

Getting Ahead Workforce Development Program

Parents attend 8 week program instructed by the Howard County Multiservice Center to make concrete plans for economic security. Childcare and dinner provided at no cost.

Our early childhood programs at CRES and child care partner programs in the community meet the highest national and state standards, ensuring that children participate in developmentally appropriate learning with teachers who have participated in extensive staff development courses and activities.
