We offer a variety of programs here at the Judy Center at Cradlerock. The playgroups that we offer at the Judy Center are designed around The Maryland Early Learning Standards. Our playgroups range from early social emotional skills to healthy eating and physical activity. We offer formal, cohorted playgroups and drop-in playgroups. During playgroup caregivers who come with the child are part of the learning. We want the caregivers on the floor and interacting with children and the lessons. As well as playgroups we also have evening events. We host Family Together Nights and partner with Cradlerock Elementary to hold events for families.
Each of our cohorted playgroups is designed to be developmentally appropriate and to build from one class to the other throughout the year. The playgroups are designed around The Maryland Early Learning Standards. After each class families will walk away with information on how to continue the learning at home. Please see below for more information about the different playgroups offered and how to register.
When choosing a playgroup to register for please use the age of your child and ensure their age falls within that group. If you are not certain which group would best fit your child please contact us and we will be happy to answer any questions.
Baby and Me is designed to be developmentally appropriate for Judy Center children ages 0 - 12 months. The playgroups are designed around The Maryland Early Learning Standards. The activities are designed to stimulate and engage the child. Caregivers are active participants in each class. Baby and caregiver will enjoy music, instruments, stories, art activities and much more during class. A commitment of attending at least 3 classes a month is required. Terrific Tots is designed to be developmentally appropriate for Judy Center children ages 18 months to 2 years. The playgroups are designed around The Maryland Early Learning Standards. Children and caregivers will enjoy stories, music and movement, songs, nursery rhymes, puppets, making friends and developing their language. A commitment of attending at least 3 classes a month is required. Terrific Tots will meet on Wednesdays 11-11:45 am. Please see our calendar for specific dates.

Open Play is a time for parents and caregivers to bring their child and enjoy some play time with peers. This is a time for parents and caregivers to put their phones away and enjoy time visitng with children and other adults as well as Judy Center staff. This open to all Judy Center children not enrolled in school or Head Start. Open play will be on Thursdays 11-11:45 am

Parents at Play is a playgroup for Judy Center children ages 2-4 years of age. During this playgroup Port Discovery staff will guide parents through play with their child. This is a three part series that will colminate with a visit to Port Discovery. Registration is required and will open closer to the date of the groups beginning.
Let’s Move is a drop-in playgroup that is designed for Judy Center children ages 2-4 years of age. The playgroup is designed around The Maryland Early Learning Standards. Children will explore multiple ways to use and move their bodies while learning to follow directions and socialize with peers. Children and caregivers will enjoy music and movement while learning the importance of physical activity. Let’s Move will meet 1 Tuesday a month 10-10:45 am. The Judy Center offers multiple evening events year round. We strive to have events that enrich the lives of the child and families we serve. Examples of our events are 123 Andres, Abrakadoodle and Eric Energy. We also partner with Title 1 at Cradlerock to host school wide evening events.
