Launch Into Learning is an early learning initiative supported by the Howard County Early Childhood Advisory Council (HCECAC). The goal of HCECAC is to highlight the importance of the Early Years, for parents and families in particular, but also for early care and education professionals, and other community stakeholders.

The Judy Center works closely with the Head Start program and some of their children attend both Head Start and public Pre-Kindergarten at Cradlerock Elementary School. We align our calendars and provide support for summer registration of children in joint programming: Head Start and Pre-K. We work together on Child Development classes for parents and on professional development for teachers. Accredited by NAEYC and MSDE. CAC also provides the Food and Diaper bank for eligible Howard County residents. The Judy Center has been actively involved in the diaper bank since it's grand opening in April 2017. A local day care center providing full day full year services for families with 6 weeks to 5 year old children. Offers a language immersion experience year-round for Judy Center non-English speaking 3 and 4 year olds. Accredited by MSDE. Contact # (410) 381-0906

A cooperative nursery school for 2-5 year olds with weekly/monthly themes based on Little Treasures curriculum. Offers a cooperative experience in the classroom for parents and hosts parenting programs in conjunction with the Judy Center. Contact # (410) 290-9166

Offers entry-level courses for prospective teachers in Early Childhood and classes to meet credentialing requirements of the state. Also has non-credit to credit options for students. The library has an active early childhood department, which offers classes for young children and parents and a highly successful summer reading program. They attend Judy Center events bringing library books and other resources and provide on-site story time. Provides information, referrals and direct services to families served by the Judy Center including access to the child care subsidy program, food stamps, Temporary Assistance to Needy Families, Jobs First Program and supportive interventions when a child’s health and safety is in jeopardy. The county agency responsible for providing health services for low-income families and offers immunization and flu clinics, the Family Options teen parent program, vision and hearing screenings for young children, emergency preparedness, tobacco cessation and substance abuse assessment and treatment, health education, child health and wellness programs (safe sleep education/cribs, car seat safety and WIC). The Office of Children & Families promotes the well-being of children birth to five years old by providing services and supports to their families and caregivers and supports the initiatives of the Early Childhood Advisory Council. Luminus is a nonprofit organization in Howard County, Maryland that empowers immigrants, refugees, asylees and other foreign-born individuals by helping them to access community resources and opportunities. A school system resource that offers families with concerns about their child’s development screening and services, if necessary, to assist children in their developmental trajectory. Provides special education teachers to our Preschool, Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten programs and Infants and Toddlers services to parents with children birth through age 3. The Family Support and Resource Center is designed to help families of children with special needs.
